MGM showed the Marx Bros as tempered ex-commies who get by and accept a kind of American-brand of "Right" Nazism, a Christian-only monopoly of Hollywood and a conservative Anglo-Saxon status quo. But at Universal, the brothers were respected and showcased as Leftist rogue philosophers oppressed by "polite society"(the bourgeoisie). They were the anarchist Jazz-age superheroes that inspired Looney Tunes to build Warner Brothers.
