I will review Jumanji when its available for free. I respect that they didn't retread much of the original premise at all, but (somewhat) imaginatively spun the basic motif of becoming part of a game by updating the setting from a living board game to a living video game. Its less interesting but more present than the original. The script has an opportunity to comment on virtual reality, quantum theory, existentialism, narrative and the human psyche's reaction to all of this fracturing of consciousness. I'm not expecting it to top what Twin Peaks did this year with all of this, but they may do a cute job if they can intellectualize any measure of this for teens and families.
